Seven students from Mr. Long's AP Statistics classes competed in Temple University's (Fox School of Business) 1st Annual Statistics Challenge Competition on Friday, April 22. Students worked in teams of four to complete a two hour exam created by the Statistics Department at Temple. The team of Eric Jankowski, Alice Liu, Travis Liu, and Sagar Maheshwari finished in second place out of twenty-six other high school teams.
After a walking tour of the campus, the students heard from faculty members, current students, and recent graduates working in industry about the growing demand for people in the fields of statistics and data analysis.
